Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is a public university in Oregon with a main campus in southwest Portland and a smaller campus in Beaverton. It was formed in 1974 as the University of Oregon Health Sciences Center, combining state dentistry, medicine, and nursing programs into a single center. It was renamed Oregon Health Sciences University in 1981 and took its current name in 2001, as part of a merger with the Oregon Graduate Institute of Science and Technology in Beaverton.
The university maintains a number of outpatient primary care facilities including the Physician's Pavilion on-campus as well as throughout the Portland metropolitan area. Since 1998, the university has controlled the Oregon National Primate Research Center, located in Washington County.

Neuroscience Graduate Program - Founded in 1992, the Neuroscience Graduate Program at OHSU consists of about 40 predoctoral students and more than 100 faculty. Training is multidisciplinary, allowing students to choose research areas ranging from molecular to behavioral neurobiology. The school is the site of the medical and dental schools for the Oregon State System of Higher Education.
