Plymouth College of Art and Design is an art school based in the city of Plymouth, the United Kingdom. The college, akin to many of its type, was founded in the 19th century and teaches art at both further and higher education levels.
The late 1890s were the years that first played host to what was to become PCAD: the Jubilee Memorial Art, Science and Technical School. In 1937, the art department split from the rest of the school and, before the 1940s were out, had premises of its own. By 1973 what was now the College of Art moved to five different sites in the city, including Tavistock Place.
40% of the College's student intake are in higher education, or degree courses validated by the University of Plymouth. The current principal is Lynne Staley-Brookes.
